You will have a picnic lunch on the way and the journey will take 5 to 6 hours through some of the unexplored and untouched areas in Tanzania. In the afternoon embark on a boat safari, where you’ll admire hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat ad get close to riverine bird species. Stay at Ngalawa Camp, just outside the reserve gate.

After breakfast, you will go for a walking safari, accompanied by rangers armed for about two hours. The aim is not to walk up to potentially dangerous game, but rather to be able to get a more intimate feel for the bush and take a closer look at some of the smaller but equally important members of the eco-system. After the walk, game viewing en-route to Mikumi National Park. Check-in at Mikumi Bastian Camp.
Day 4: Full day drive in Mikumi National Park
After an early breakfast, you will go on a full day game drive in the park. The Mikumi flood plain is the main feature of the park along with the bordering mountain ranges.
